Sudhir Pratap Singh TREASURER, IPF Former DG NSG
Born on 03.01.1958. Hail from Patna, Bihar. Senior Cambridge from St Michaels High School, Patna (1974). Graduate in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University (1977). Post Graduate in Economics from Delhi University (1979).
Joined Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) in 1981.
Selected for Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1983 and allotted Rajasthan Cadre. Served as Superintendent of Police of Districts Jaisalmer, Ganganagar, Alwar and Jodhpur, DIG in Crime Branch and ADG (Training) in Rajasthan Police.
Served with the Government of India on central deputation with the CBI, CISF, CRPF and NSG. Superannuated on 31st Jan. 2018 as Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG).
Awarded President Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2000 and President Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2007.
Founding Member & General Secretary of NGO Sapna (www.sapnaindia.org) – a developmental non-governmental organization established in 2004.
An Alumnus of National Defence College, Delhi (2009). Awarded M.Phil. degree in ‘Strategic and Defence Studies’ by University of Madras.
Awarded Fellow in Management (equivalent to PhD) by Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon on the topic “The Problem of Downward Accountability in Development NGOs” in June 2022.
Appointed ‘Adjunct Professor’ in the ‘School of Public Policy and Governance’ at MDI Gurgaon from October 2018 to October 2020. Presently visiting faculty at MDI Gurgaon.
Serving as Treasurer of the ‘Indian Police Foundation’ (www.policefoundationindia.org) – a think tank on police reforms.
