22nd July 2025 — Shri O.P. Singh, former Director General of Police (DGP), Uttar Pradesh, and President and CEO of the Indian Police Foundation, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘UP Ratn Samman 2025’ at a ceremony held in New Delhi. The award was presented by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth.

Instituted by the esteemed Dainik Jagran newspaper group, the award recognizes Shri Singh’s outstanding contributions to public service and his pivotal role in implementing the Police Commissionerate System in Uttar Pradesh — a transformative reform that has significantly improved efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness in urban policing.
